Shoe The World Day 2026 funds 10,844 pairs of The Shoe That Grows
This year's Shoe The World Day campaign again brought our community together around a shared purpose, and the result was something truly worth celebrating.
Through the campaign, we raised enough funds to provide 10,844 pairs of The Shoe That Grows to kids in Busia County, Kenya, to be distributed by Because International partner organization Dhamira Moja. These pairs will expand as the kids grow and last for years, helping protect them from injury and disease while supporting their ability to attend school and fully participate in daily life. Every pair of shoes represents a child who can walk to class safely, focus on learning and show up with confidence.
So how did we get here?
Momentum started locally, right here in Nampa, Idaho. Morning show hosts Joey and Lauren helped spread the word to a wide audience, bringing fresh energy to the campaign and inviting so many more people into the story. Their support was a reminder that awareness is its own form of generosity, and that when people hear about something meaningful, they want to be part of it.
From there, generosity took on a life of its own. Students at Sun Valley Community School hosted a bake sale to support the campaign, raising over $500. It would be easy to overlook a bake sale in the context of a global campaign, but that is exactly the kind of community spirit that makes Shoe The World Day what it is. Their effort was a powerful reminder that impact has no age limit. They showed up, they baked and they gave generously to kids just like themselves, but with different challenges.
The giving didn't stop there. Three donors stepped forward with matching gifts, doubling the impact of every dollar given and motivating even more people to contribute. As the campaign gained momentum, a fourth donor joined with a simple but powerful goal: to make sure every remaining donation was matched. That final push carried the campaign across the finish line.
What made this campaign so meaningful wasn't just the number at the end. It was media who shared, the students who baked and sold and gave, the donors who multiplied every act of generosity, the global partner on the ground making sure those shoes reach the children who need them—and each and every donor who gave a gift of any size to meet a tangible need for a child experiencing poverty. Shoe The World Day 2026 is proof of what is possible when community, commitment and compassion come together.
We are grateful for every single person who gave, shared, or helped spread the word. Thank you.
