If you’ve been following Because International over the last few years, you’ve likely heard us talk about a program called The Sole—but what is it? In short, The Sole is a subscription platform that gives donors the opportunity to send The Shoe That Grows to kids on a recurring, monthly basis.
We launched The Sole in an effort to provide an easy, low-cost option for individuals who want to support kids around the world. We realize that not everyone has the time, interest or financial capacity to visit impoverished countries and distribute hundreds of shoes, so we wanted to offer an alternative that allowed individuals to make a big impact with the click of a button—and The Sole was born!
One of the best things about The Sole, apart from the fact that you’re helping kids every month, is the flexibility and peace of mind it offers. Upon signing up, you have the option to select what donation amount you feel most comfortable with. Whether you choose to donate one or 20 pairs a month, you can rest easy knowing that we’re working behind the scenes to ensure the shoes are going to families who truly need them.

Every pair of shoes donated through The Sole are given to children around the world, many of whom have been displaced and are living in refugee camps. To distribute these shoes, we partner with organizations like Lifting Hands International to provide them where humanitarian aid is needed.
In 2021, The Sole members donated 2,240 pairs of shoes to children across Turkey, Bangladesh and Tanzania!
Becoming a member of The Sole is easy! Simply visit The Sole page on our website and select how much you’d like to donate each month. For every $20, we’ll send a pair of shoes to families in need.
After that, you can sit back and relax. Your monthly donation will be automatically withdrawn, and The Shoe That Grows will be sent on your behalf. Every quarter, you’ll get special emails from us outlining any distribution details we can share about where donations are going—a fun way to see where your shoes are being used!
