Jeeva Senthilnathan (Privando)

Jeeva Senthilnathan is the founder of Privando, a business that uses a smart watch to improve the safety of vulnerable populations of women in high-risk areas of India.

HELPING VULNERABLE FEMALE POPULATIONS AROUND THE WORLD

Based in Colorado, Privando is developing a smartwatch alert system with which the user can quickly notify friends and family if they are in an unsafe situation.

While she initially created Privando to help vulnerable populations of women and students in India, she’s now finding places across Asia and the US where it can make an impact for high-risk demographics.

PRIVANDO IN THE BECAUSE ACCELERATOR

A high school student, the Because Accelerator cohort helped Jeeva create connections outside of the classroom.

“[The Accelerator] is a wonderful program for those who want to make an impact in the entrepreneurship world, but don’t know how to,” explained Jeeva. “It assists you in building self-confidence and making bold moves for your project.”

With her experience in the free, online incubator, Jeeva was able to build a Privando team and locate funding for compensation. Privando has created three areas to expand focus for their product—“help eradicate the anti-blackness within the Southeast Asian community, help eradicate the sexual harassment issue in India with female power,” and to “help eradicate the police brutality with Black Americans in the United States.” Privando provides a small technology with the potential to help fight systemic problems.

The Because Accelerator is a completely free online training and mentorship program for entrepreneurs who have product-focused ideas and businesses in areas impacted by poverty.
