After three successful years running the Because Accelerator and working with 59 entrepreneurs from around the globe, Because International is thrilled to now offer two $10,000 recoverable grant opportunities to alumni of the program.
Since its inception in 2019, the Because Accelerator has worked to help entrepreneurs take their innovative products to the next level—done through 10 weeks of one-on-one coaching, online training, networking, and a final pitch competition among the cohort. At the end of the program, entrepreneurs walk away with a completed business plan, a pitch polished and ready for investors, and progress made towards completing one or more business goals. Now, thanks to the recoverable grant, two entrepreneurs will also walk away with $10,000 to spur growth in their business.
To be considered for one of the two grants, applicants must have:
If selected for the second stage of the process, applicants will be asked to virtually attend an interview with the Because Accelerator team.
The two finalists are expected to use the $10,000 grant to grow the business, create local jobs and/or maximize impact, and part of the interview process is discussing each applicant’s vision for how this will take place.
After three years, the finalists will be contacted to evaluate repayment based on the company’s revenue growth and profitability—determining whether repayment should be paid all at once, over a certain period of time, or not at all.
