About Dhamira Moja

Why shoes?

Providing dignity and confidence.

Shoes equalize and bring up the level of inclusivity. [With shoes], kids are not prone to diseases or injury, and it helps raise their self-esteem and provides dignity to everyone. Everyone deserves dignity.

Sarah Martha

Executive Director, Dhamira Moja

Supporting physical and emotional health.

Shoes are so important because of the number of students who come to school without shoes and the issue of sanitation. When they walk barefoot, there are big issues with sanitation. Jiggers can also be a big problem. It also gives students dignity. When kids don’t have shoes, their self-esteem is lower.
