Ahadi Kenya Trust pioneered the anti-jigger campaign that commenced 19 years ago, and has since implemented and co-implemented several programs on poverty intervention measures. The approach has been through several capacity building forums on the prevention and control of jigger infestation, creating access to healthcare for affected persons, and improving the life of the vulnerable in communities.
About Ahadi Kenya Trust
Partnering with the Ministry of Health, Ahadi Trust holds a National Jigger Awareness Day on March 3 every year.
Ahadi Trust works with the Ministry of Education to build institutional capacity for jigger eradication through school clubs and supports the reintegration of affected dropouts.
Working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ahadi Trust supports projects to empower communities to generate sustainable income through banana farming, beekeeping, weaving, and avocado farming.
