Harliet joined Because International in early 2024 to support entrepreneurs and has since grown into a broader role as the Kenya programs manager, where she leads partnership communications and field engagement across Kenya. Prior to joining Because, she studied public relations and marketing at Daystar University in Nairobi and founded her own consulting firm, Think Opal, where she supported social enterprises across East Africa with marketing, leadership, and sales strategy.

Harliet is known for her ability to build trust quickly and navigate complex, on-the-ground dynamics with insight and care. Whether conducting surveys with teachers and students or coordinating with partner organizations, she creates space for people to show up authentically. Her strong organizational skills, reliability, and deep understanding of the East African context make her an invaluable member of the team.

In her spare time, Harliet enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and participating in outdoor activities.
